Today is your last "official" day to complete your projects and post them to your ePortfolios.

Not done? You will likely be in at breaks to finish...

Our last class, Tuesday, June 18th, will be spent reviewing our projects, doing a final assessment, and reviewing our ePortfolios before parents see them. You must be in class!!

Apples Thurs June 5th

Hi Apples,

As of today, we have only THREE CLASSES!
Our last class will be a PRESENTATION class (June 18th)
IF you are not done, you will come in on MAKE UP Day (June 20th)




1. PHOTOGRAPHY GROUP
    GOAL: To learn photography and editing techniques,
                  post at least three finished photos for evaluation in ePortfolio
                 and choose ONE to print for yourself.
  • ePortfolio Project Page should have:
    • Project Title
    • Several of YOUR "raw" Photos with comments (what I tried)
    • Something your learning about Photography (Alaya's Powerpoint)
    • Criteria for a great photo
  • Today you will EDIT photos:
    • cropping
    • colour levels and curves
    • other
  • People Photography Challenge
    • Take a photo that really shows their personality and your creativity as a photographer
2. VIDEOGRAPHY
    GOAL: To learn how to make a unique brief video (trailer) and practice great editing skills

  • ePortfolio Project Page should have:
    • Project Title
    • Storyboard or Outline of your Plan
    • Inspiration Video
    • Criteria for a great video and what YOU want to focus on
  • Today you will be filming:
    • Think of camera angles, wide shots, close ups
    • Watch out for AUDIO!!
    • Have purpose--don't waste your time (only two classes to edit)
3. VIRTUAL WORLD
    GOAL: To create a technically excellent building that shows teamwork and creative design
  • ePortfolio Project Page should have:
    • Project Title
    • An Inspiration Photo(s)
    • Criteria for a Great Build
    • Your Design
  • Today you will be building for most of the class:
    • Take a SCREEN CAPTURE of your work in progress
    • Say what you contributed today

Apples! Today we will divide the class into three parts:

1. ePortfolio 15 minutes
        a) Add a Page to your MENU for the PROJECT
        b) How to TAG your POSTS

2. Major Project Exploration*: (45 mins)
        a) Videography (book trailer, movie trailer)--STEP 1: VIDEO CHALLENGE (Desktop Shared)
        b) Photography (camera work, photo editing)--Basic Skills (Camera, Shooting, Composition)
              +  MINI-CHALLENGE (take a photo to make an object look different than it is--
               SHIFT perspective)
         c) Virtual World Design (related to a job/occupation or hobby/interest)--Continue with Build

   *Related Competencies: Technology Skills, Creativity, Problem Solving, Independent Learning

3. Digital Story*
        a) Final Assessment using Rubric on ePortfolio

        a) See your Desktop Network Share Folder

2. Major Project Exploration*: (45 mins)

        b) Photography (camera work, photo editing)
        c) Virtual World Design (related to a job/occupation or hobby/interest)

   *Related Competencies: Technology Skills, Creativity, Problem Solving, Independent Learning

3. Digital Story*
        a) Final Assessment using Rubric on ePortfolio

*Students who are behind in their Digital Stories will be expected to stay in at break for 15 minutes
**Note: We will put our Career Packet on hold for the last week of classes

Apples Tuesday, May 21st

Hi Apples,

For the first 30 minutes, we'll be preparing for our ePortfolio interviews with Ms. Humphries' Grade 10 English class.

Here is what you do:
1. Log on to http://sd8learns.sd8.bc.ca  (Forgot password? Reset with your email)
2. Add a new POST titled "Virtual World"
3. Go to Desktop SHARED folder. Find SD8VLC Survivor.
4. Follow INSTRUCTIONS on Reflection Sheet. Copy Questions to your POST.
5. Use your RUBRIC and respond to prompts. Add a SCREENSHOT of you TEAM BUILD as evidence. (you will have to crop it in PAINT)


 
2. ePortfolio Interviews are 30 minutes in the Library.
